För oss som lever. Oss som kämpar varje dag för rätten till ett värdigt liv, rätten att få vara oss själva, accepterade och älskade precis som en är, eller som en vill vara. Vi kämpar tillsammans för dom av oss som inte är med oss längre. För dom av oss som kämpade men inte orkade leva. Transgender Day of Remembrance är en hyllning till dom av oss som borde finnas med oss idag men fallit offer för våldet och transhatet.
Reclaim Pride, och TDoR Kommittén Göteborg och SAQMI presenterar Trans Awareness Week 2021: en vecka med fokus på transpersoners liv och död. Med föreläsningar, panelsamtal, filmvisningar, workshops, brandtal, minnesstund, dans, kärlek och gemenskap. Det sker i samarbete med Lesbisk Makt och Västra Götaland regionen.
Initiativet till Transgender Day of Remembrance togs i USA 1998 till minne av Rita Hester som mördades i Allston, Massachusetts och har sedan dess hållits i allt större omfattning världen över, den 20 november varje år.
Veckan kommer att handla om konst, rasism & colonialism, sexarbetares rättigheter, att pusha tillbaka mot transhat, och sen att skaffa vår egen transutopia. BIPOC loungen kommer under festivalen att skapa ett separatistiskt rum för queer BIPOC att diskutera och samtala samma ämnen men i ett rum fritt från white guilt och tystnaden som kommer med det.

Praktisk information
De flesta eventen sker på Kvinnofolkhögskola och Frilagret, och några kommer att vara också online, under vecka 46 från den 14:e till 20:a november 2020. Alla aktiviteter är kostnadsfria. Alla aktiviteter för alla att ta del av, förutom BIPOC lounge som är öppet bara för BIPOC personer (BIPOC betyder black, indigenous and people of color).
Mer information om detta finner du i sidan om programmet. Några av eventen kan erbjuda på engelska om behovet finns. De flesta programpunkter kommer även att teckenspråkstolkas och syntolkas. Om du behöver teckenspråkstolkning eller syntolkning på engelska går det bra att kontakta oss. Båda lokaler är tillgängliga med rullstol.
För att delta i digitala eventen behöver du installera Zoom och gärna ha mikrofon. Webbkamera är valfritt.

This is Trans Week of Awareness
This is for us and for our siblings. This is for us who are alive. For us who fight every day for the right to a life, the right to be ourselves – accepted and loved exactly as the people we are, or the people we want to be.
Over the last few years there has been increased attention on our existences as trans people in this country. The healthcare we receive has been deeply questioned. Ultimately, our existences themselves have been increasingly called into question. We are here. We exist and we will not be silent. That’s why we have come together for this week of discussions, actions and reflections on the lives and deaths of trans people.
For those of you who are a part of the community, we hope that you can feel that you are not alone. We are many and in this together we can get through anything, even if it feels impossible in the thick of it all.
And for those of you who are here as allies, or curious, we hope that you can get a glimpse into our world, understand our experiences and support us in the fight onwards.
This week is organised with the collective efforts of Reclaim Pride, TDoRKommittén Göteborg and SAQMI, in collaboration with Lesbisk Makt and the Västra Götalands region. The themes will be art, racism & colonialism, sex workers rights, to bash back against transphobia, and to create our own transutopia. The BIPOC lounge will create a space during the festival for BIPOC queers to discuss the same topics but in a space free from white guilt and silence.

Practical information
Most events will take place on site at Kvinnofolkhögskolan and Frilagret, and some of them will also be digital. The dates are between the 14th and the 20th of September. Entry to all events is free of charge. All activities are welcome for everyone to join, except the BIPOC lounge ones that are open only to BIPOC folks (BIPOC means black, indigenous and people of color).
More specific information for each event is available on its own page. Some events might be available in English if there is a need for it. Sign language and audio description will be available for most events, let us know in advance if you need sign language or audio description in English. The two venues are accessible with wheelchairs.
If you want to participate in the digital events, you need to install Zoom and have a microphone. Webcam is optional.
